I was just stumbling through the depths of Youtube, listening to music, when up popped !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . Pretty powerful piece of music if you have not heard it. It started out as a NiN song, but JC did it, and Trent had to admit that it was no longer his song. They have his opinion as the top comment on the video page.

For those who may have read "Songmaster," JC's rendition of that makes me think of Ansset. It's a very good book, and I dont want to say much more here, but spoilers may follow in the comments.

Since I'm already off topic have a race plane, because it's blue!

... there we go, better.

I'd heard the Cash version before the NIN version and I always thought that it felt more like Johnny's song. The fact that his version is better helps too. Personal Jesus is another good cover of his.

Read the Ender series years ago. Favorite was Ender's Shadow.

I like the way that he can do scifi without it being about sci fi. It's about the people who just happen to live in a different time/reality. Another that I really liked was "Treason"

Trent's cool for saying that, and JC does a fantastic cover of the song, but The Downward Spiral is an awesome album, and Hurt is a great way to end it. Personally, I prefer NINs version, but only at the end of listening to the entire album. I realize that that's a strange distinction.

Yeah, but IMO the original Personal Jesus is better...In fact, I prefer Manson's cover over JCs too.

This one is Rusty Cage, as covered by JC

I have never been a Manson fan... He's a smart guy, but I just don't dig his sound.

He definitely has a very..."particular" sound. I don't think I've ever met anyone that was truly on the fence about his music. People either like/love it, or they dislike/hate it. Personally, I think the sound he makes in his music is interesting (and I'm a pretty big fan of industrial music, which I think is why I'm drawn to it...it sort of has that sound). But, as always, to each their own :)
